Blankos Block Party and NFL Rivals game developer Mythical Games has launched Nitro Nation World Tour (NNWT), a free-to-play mobile drag racing game with licensed car NFTs from luxury brands like McLaren, Aston Martin, and Jaguar.

In NNWT, gamers can race each other in real-time or play through the games campaign mode after fine-tuning their cars and upgrading their garage.

Mythical published the game with the support of CM Games, the maker of the original Nitro Nation game released back in 2014. NNWT offers players a range of cars to choose from, with Volkswagen, Subaru, RUF, Lotus, Pagani, Saleen, and KTM models also available.

Electronic musician Joel “Deadmau5” Zimmerman—who previously launched his own NFTs starting in 2021—is also promoting the game, and will use NNWT visuals in his upcoming tour that begins Thursday in Tokyo, Japan.

Deadmau5 is a known supercar fan himself. He previously got into a legal spat with Ferrari in 2014 over his Nyan Cat-themed wrap and custom details for his Ferrari 458 Italia Spider, cheekily dubbed the “Purrari.”

For Nitro Nation World Tour, the electronic artist is lending his moniker to a themed in-game Deadmau5 car—though it’s unclear if it’ll have the same kind of blue wrap. Gamers will have to compete in a Deadmau5 racing event to win the exclusive car. He previously collaborated with Mythical Games on Blankos Block Party in-game content.

In a statement, Deadmau5 said that he’s “always loved living on the cutting edge of technology” and that the game is launching as part of his Day of the Deadmau5 concerts.

“I’ve said before that music is 80% fun and 20% work. Video games, for me, are all about fun,” he added. “I hope you’ll enjoy playing the game as much as I have.”

Nitro Nation World Tour’s NFTs will be on Mythical’s Mythos blockchain. In addition to car NFTs, players also have the option to buy an NFT of their “Workshop,” which can be upgraded, come in four different rarity levels, and allow players to upgrade their cars with boosts to different stats compared to the free version.

The iOS and Android app is free to download and has already seen over 100,000 downloads on Google’s Play Store during the earlier soft launch period.
